Jul 9 - 12, July 13, Not much to say one way or another. Had a roomy paved pull through but still couldn't get fully level in our 39 ft coach. Quiet place. Didn't have need to check in personally probably a COVID measureso "hospitality" is based on a few phone calls. Didn't use any facilities as we were there to visit Civil War sites.
Fort AP Hill is off the beaten path and no commissary; They said there was a small Exchange but we could not find it. Report this review Comments 0 Was this review helpful? September September 15, You will get an and map from the office after you make reservations, Just take the route clearly outlined on the map and you will be fine. Don't be tempted to look at the map and try the "apparent" shortcut.
Some of the ro are closed Campbell for oneand others bear a different name on the street vs. Save Hot Girl Hookup Bowling green Virginia 22427 some trouble. We rode around in the dark for at least 20 minutes -- and many miles out of the way before learning to just do it the easy way! Now for the review We have stayed here a of times -- before and after the remodel. The renovations have made the sites much nicer; level, full hookups, picnic table. A fire pit with benches next to the little rec center. Sites are very close together, and no trees, but most of the neighbors weekday seemed to be gone during the day, so very quiet.
Be aware cell service is minimal one bar, occasionally two, with Verizoninternet never did work this time; ly we have had to go to the rec center to get a decent al. However, both the Food Lion and McDonalds in nearby Bowling Green had a al good enough to pick up or other non-confidential tasks.
Staff are great. We even got a text message letting us know they were cutting grass that day and asking us to be aware of any items that could be in the way assuming you wanted your grass cut. And we have stayed at other military facilities that were nicer and cheaper. BUT if you do an area comparison of private campgrounds, this one is competitive with the locals in the immediate area. The two private ones a few miles down the road are about the same price but not as nice sites.
If you need the proximity to Richmond, or the bells and whistles pool, entertainment, etc. Makes Champs Camp seem like a bargain even counting the extra gas! Will definitely return. August 18, Great staff, very nice and professional. Very nice renovation. Paved sites. Nice tables. Verizon worked in campground. WiFi range is limited but works well if you are close enough. We were here for a wedding at "The Lodge", an amazing facility that accommodates about Commercial kitchen.
Historic chapel down the road was also used. Throwing this out for those looking for such a venue. It worked well for the wedding we had. Note on access. From you encounter a "gate complex". It is not used nor is the other one you will see.
Wind your way up the hill to the Quonset check point. Big rigs should go on the far side of the hut to get ID checked. The directions here are no longer correct If you turn left there you will arrive at the camp ground in less than a mile. If you do not make the turn, after about a mile you will soon see the RV storage area. MWR is behind that storage area. Think you're supposed to go to MWR first if they are open. Probably should call them.
July 08, Nicely renovated campground. Sites are long but narrow. No trees, no WiFi if your parked away from bldg which has a tv, washer and dryers, no cable. Expensive for having no amenities. May 5- 20, May 19, They were vert professional and courteous asing us a site.
The renovation is well worth the wait. Beware the gate entry has been modified ,go slow. Large pull thru's, but no shade. Bartlett6 Top Reviewer 3 reviews. Aug September 24, We enjoyed staying here with evening walks around the base.
Cannot beat 13 bucks per night for full hook up if you have lifetime national park card and we are retired military. It is being completely renovated and not available until Nov Counted 14 deer in field next to campground. Quiet and peaceful except people cranking up vehicles every morning when leaving to go to work. Great MWR attendants. Run when they mow the grass which they slung rocks on rear of my motorhome and cracked fiberglass. I hope it is really nice after renovation.
I will go back. August September 01, We visit the Richmond area frequently and there are only a few campgrounds within an hour drive; two of those few are military—Champs Camp north of the city and Richmond Supply Depot on the south. We have stayed at RSD in the past and it os much closer. However, Champs has FHU which we need for longer stays. The issues noted in other reviews re placement of utilities, etc.
August 03, My wife and I stayed here in June and I left a fairly good review, then. So, we're back here in August for a couple of weeks and boy howdy, does it look different without any trees in the campground!
The deer, fox, and turkey are still all around and it's still front and center, if you like Civil War history Chancellorsville, Spotsylvania Courthouse, and Wilderness battlefields are within minutes away, not to mention Richmond, Petersburg, and Appomattox Courthouse are near enough for real Civil War buffs.Hot Girl Hookup Bowling green Virginia 22427
